InThinking IB-approved Workshops
-
Payment The course fee (after bank charges) should be paid in full to InThinking at least two weeks prior to the start of the relevant event.
-
Cancellation by Participant For cancellations received in writing by InThinking prior to the registration deadline, the course fee will be refunded minus a 15% administrative charge and any associated bank charges. After the registration deadline, any refund of course fees will be entirely at the discretion of InThinking.
-
Cancellation by InThinking We reserve the right to cancel a workshop due to: (a) low enrolment up to a calendar month prior to the relevant workshop; (b) force majeure — e.g. illness, pandemic, strikes, extreme weather conditions. In both cases, the course fee will be refunded in full, but InThinking cannot be held liable for any associated travel or accommodation costs.
-
Insurance Participants are responsible for making their own insurance arrangements and InThinking can not be held liable for any damages, thefts, injuries or illness that take place during the workshop. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance for the duration of your trip.
-
Use of Photographs Any photographs taken by us during the course of InThinking events may be used in promotional materials such as flyers and websites. If you do not wish you photograph to be used for this purpose, we require prior written notification.
InThinking Subject Sites
-
An annual subscription to a subject site entitles registered teachers and/or administrators at a school to access the site in question for a period of one year from the time of payment. (A subscription also allows teachers to give students access to selected pages.)
-
Each user has a unique email and password which allows them to be logged on to one computer at a time.
-
Teacher accounts are for the exclusive use of teachers at the subscribing school. (In the case of IB schools, a different IB code means a different school.) Any evidence that teachers or students outside a subscribing school are being given access will result in that school being permanently blocked from the site without a refund.
-
Only teachers, administrators, or private tutors can take out subscriptions for subject sites. Neither students, nor someone acting on their behalf, can take out a subscription. If this condition is infringed, the subscription in question will be blocked without refund and legal action will be taken against the offending party.
-
While we appreciate constructive feedback, any comments submitted to our sites may be removed at our discretion. Comments that are libellous, abusive, or offensive, will result in a user's account being permanently blocked.
InThinking Self-study & Revision Sites
-
A subscription allows a subscriber to access a subject site for the specified time period from one device at a time by logging in with their email and password.
-
Each account is for the exclusive use of the subscriber. Any evidence that access credentials have been circulated to other people will result in the relevant subscriber being permanently blocked from the site without any refund.
-
Subscribers must not adapt or alter any of the material on the site or use it for any purpose other than their own personal, non-commercial use.
-
While we appreciate constructive feedback, any comments you submit may be removed at our discretion. Comments that are libellous, abusive, or offensive, will result in a subscriber being banned from the site.
Data Protection Policy
-
All information relevant to subscriptions is stored on a private server in Ireland. This server uses encryption and conforms to the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
-
We only require names and emails of users. Optionally, they can also give their country, number of years teaching IB, and number of students taught (for internal anonymous statistics).
-
We do not store credit card information.
-
We do not sell or share any user information with third parties. (The one exception is that we share details of participants at IB-approved workshops with the International Baccalaureate Organization.)
-
Users can exercise their right of access, rectification, and erasure by contacting us directly.
-
Teachers, students, or parents can request the deletion of data at any time via email or using our contact form.
-
We only collect student data about academic tasks, grades etc. This can only be accessed by teachers and students (or parents if they request it).
-
User activity data is kept while the account is active. It is removed — deleted, not anonymised 6 months after a subscription expires, but it can be deleted at any time if requested.
-
In the unlikely event of a data security breach, all relevant customers will immediately be notified. (Please contact us if you suspect any such breach.)
